Like a speedo in a car for a driver an owner of a business must have a set of numbers that they use to ensure that their business is operating properly – we call these numbers Metrics.
In our coaching program we make sure that you have three sets of metrics
✅ Backward looking metrics that show you what you did last year, last quarter and last month. These include sales and profit. We compare this with looking in the rear-view mirror in a car. You can’t drive a car by looking in a rear view mirror, but many business owners steer their businesses using backward looking metrics.
✅ Current metrics that show you what is happening in your business now. These are like sales so far this month, work flow for the next two weeks etc. We compare this with looking out the windshield at the road in front of you. While you can negotiate the road you don’t have a destination.
✅ Forward looking metrics that guide your business forward. These include forward planning of work over the next quarter, a budget etc. We compare this with the GPS in your car that shows you how to get to your destination.
Without all three of these metrics your business can crash or get bogged down and go no where – OK I’ve taken the car analogy a little too far.
